The United States Postal Service (USPS), an agency of the US federal government providing postal service, announced its second carrier fee hike effective this August 29.
As the volume of shipments increased, the carrier service’s commitment towards sending traditional mail has changed since the past decade as this period marks the emergence of the e-commerce industry.
Other factors that altered the carrier company’s operation are the high rates for labor and retirement expenses and the expansion of shipment points, in addition to the pandemic which impacted businesses all over the world.
What services will be affected by the price hike?
A few of the widely-used services of USPS are part of the cluster of postage fee increase this 3rd quarter. In that case, the price shift will be for First Class Mail, both domestic and international services with a 6.8% increase and Media Mail (legacy service) with a 10.86% increase.
Stallion users, please be reminded that no necessary action will be required from you. Our system will automatically reflect the shipment fee increase on August 29.
