Secure Every Parcel You Ship With Route Package Protection

As an entrepreneur, your life will always be full of risks. Some risks may lead you one step closer to your goal, while others push them one step back. Nonetheless, all stakes will help you gain experience, develop your wits, and trust your intuition. In a world filled with uncertainties, risks may come in different forms, so you should utilize your ability to decide and choose the correct options. Shipping is one of the aspects requiring a significant sense of decision-making, as many customers will use this service in rating a business' overall customer service. Furthermore, many things can happen during the shipment due to weather changes, the destination's geographical location, etc.

However, some customers will not consider these possible altering situations. So, your responsibility is to protect your brand image and overall business from potentially damaging outcomes. One way to save and protect your business is to provide every parcel with route package protection. If you want to know how shipping protection benefits you, read this article.

What is Package Protection?

You may have heard of this term numerous times, as it comes in different brand synonyms. It is also known as shipping insurance, package insurance, or buyer protection and is one of the simplest ways to improve the post-purchase customer experience.

What is Route Package Protection?

It is a shipment protection program of Route, a shipping insurance company that covers any shipping issues during transit, such as lost, stolen, or damaged packages. Route guarantees customers receive what they paid for and allows them to reorder the items quickly.

When you install Route, Track is also automatically set up. Your store will have the capacity to bring package tracking to life for shoppers with the use of the Route app immediately, although they don't purchase protection.

Merchants can utilize Track to personalize their brand profile uniquely and include branded content to shipping notifications which will come soon. It is a straightforward way to boost customer engagement, reach modern expectations, and keep customers informed about their purchases traveling from the warehouse to their doorstep.

Furthermore, customers have the freedom to purchase package protection against loss, theft, and damage through the checkout page once the Route is integrated into your store. While merchants are free of charge, the customers are charged up to 2% of their cart total, with a minimum of $0.98. Customers can directly file claims via an email link or the Route app if a shipping issue arises.

Once a customer files a claim, Route will automatically process it. It will resolve the problem in two ways: 1. Either refund the customer's purchase or 2.) Reorder the same items on behalf of the customer, resulting in the merchant's second sale.

How Much Does it Cost?

As mentioned, Route Protection will cost merchants free of charge, while customers must pay a minimum of $0.98. However, the base fee of $0.98 will only cover a cart total of less than USD 100. Once the cart total exceeds USD 100, Route computes the cart total based on numerous factors from 1.5% to 5.5%.

For example, suppose a customer has a cart total of USD 185; they must pay USD 2.76 to USD 9.25 for the shipment protection.

You can download Route in your mobile app to avail all their services, including Route premium. Moreover, you can also check Routes policies by downloading the app.

Do You Need Route Package Protection?

Although shipping and transit accidents are not everyday occurrences, getting a shipping package will protect you from any unpredictability of the situation. You do not have to be anxious while waiting for the product to arrive safely to its recipients. Plus, it establishes trust among customers, as they know whether they receive or package or not, it is a win-win situation.

*How Can it Save Your Business?

You have to establish trust between you and your customers, and offering something that can help them feel at ease every time they purchase from your store is an advantage. Of course, you do not want to cut the customer's excitement due to a lost, stolen, or damaged order.

Route shipping protection is something you can show to let them know that they will get their money's worth, even if something unwanted happens during the transit.
